Maxana is hiring a Backend Engineer for Payments to own subscription and billing logic in the backend. You’ll work primarily in TypeScript, with Go introduced as needed, handling money flows, renewal logic, and payment events in a scalable microservices stack.

The role emphasizes strong TypeScript/Node production experience, familiarity with payments or billing systems, PostgreSQL expertise, and the ability to collaborate with payment processors.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend TypeScript/Node in production (services, APIs, async workflows).
• Payments or billing experience preferred (subscriptions, webhooks, PSP integrations).
• PostgreSQL fluency and database security awareness.

Responsibilities

• Build money logic: subscriptions, renewals, credits, and plan changes that determine charges.
• Ensure event correctness and webhook reliability as core parts of the system.
• Integrate with payment processors and orchestration APIs: auth/capture, refunds, retries, edge cases.
