Job summary

Care.com is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the payments engineering team, directing end-to-end architecture, development, and operational stability of a high-volume financial platform. You will oversee Stripe-based infrastructure, multiple payment methods, and regulatory compliance, while mentoring engineers and driving best practices.

The role requires 8+ years in engineering, 3+ years of leadership, and hands-on experience with AWS, microservices, and high-throughput systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional engineering experience.
• 3+ years in a leadership role (Engineering Manager or Team Lead).
• Extensive payments platform experience (Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, ACH) and migrations from legacy systems.
• Strong knowledge of PCI-DSS, security and high-volume architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead a focused, agile team for end-to-end payments platform management.
• Optimize Stripe-based payment infrastructure for performance and scale.
• Design and maintain high-volume, secure payment processing services.
• Collaborate with Product, Finance and Compliance to ensure regulatory alignment.
• Oversee on-call, SLAs, and incident management.
