Qualia is seeking an experienced full‑stack engineer to join the Payments team. You’ll own and build systems moving funds—ACH, wires, and related workflows—across a high‑stakes real estate closing ecosystem.

You will collaborate with design, compliance, and customer-facing teams to deliver secure, scalable payment experiences. Strong emphasis on transactional integrity and production ownership in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a strong full‑stack web developer.
• Strong understanding of transactional integrity, idempotency, and failure‑mode design in financial systems.
• Direct experience building or maintaining money-movement systems (banking, fintech, payments processors, or similar regulated environments) preferred.
• Led multiple engineering teams and mentored junior developers.
• Familiarity with payment rails, banking APIs, or financial compliance standards (NACHA, SOC 2) is a strong plus.
• You’ve taken full ownership of complex, high‑liability systems in production and respond calmly under pressure.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, and maintain payment systems that handle ACH and wires at scale.
• Develop and harden payment-processing pipelines with banking partners and APIs.
• Implement controls for wire fraud prevention and anomaly detection with security/compliance teams.
• Improve core web applications supporting escrow accounting and money movement.
• Own architectural decisions for payments infrastructure including auditing and idempotency.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Accounting to meet regulatory and audit requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotation for payment-critical systems.
