Job summary

Rocket Lab USA in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Senior Payload Integration Engineer I with 5+ years of hands-on experience in spacecraft or launch vehicle integration. You will work under the Payload Integration team lead, interfacing with customer teams and performing integration activities for Electron and HASTE launches.

Based in Long Beach but required to travel to customers and launch sites worldwide, the role demands strong technical writing, planning, and cross-functional collaboration with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline with 5+ years of experience.
• Active US Government security clearance Secret or TS/SCI.
• Previous launch vehicle or space hardware integration experience.
• Willingness to travel to launch sites and overseas (New Zealand and others).

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on payload integration activities (fit checks, dispenser, integration).
• Assist management in on-site integration planning and coordination during launch site windows.
• Provide inputs for Launch Vehicle to Spacecraft ICD development and verification.
• Create and execute assembly, integration, and test instructions.
• Provide customer support with internal staff as required.
• Coordinate with engineering on mechanical/electrical design needs per mission requirements.
