Job summary

Stratolaunch in Mojave, CA seeks a Sr or Staff-level Mechanical or Structural Engineer to lead the Talon-A payload interface design and integration on hypersonic vehicles. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team and customers to define interfaces and ensure mechanical and avionics packaging meets requirements.

Ideal candidates have 10-20 years in engineering, strong CAD/analysis skills, and experience with high-temperature materials, system integration, and leadership in fast-paced

Qualifications

• 3D CAD modeling, assembly management and PDM proficiency.
• Strong communication of technical challenges to varied audiences.
• Self-starter with ability to prioritize within business goals.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain security clearance.
• Experience with leading design teams and project management.

Responsibilities

• Define interface and integration requirements across subsystems.
• Design and analyze mechanical and avionics packaging for payloads.
• Perform structural and thermal analysis of components and assemblies.
• Create and manage CAD sub-models for Talon-A payloads.
• Order hardware and support fabrication and assembly.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive workflow improvements.
