Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum Advisory Services seeks a Sr. Consultant to serve as a trusted adviser on payer systems and applications. You will create designs, requirements, and user stories; lead discovery sessions; and support agile project activities in a fast-paced environment.

Remote work is available nationwide with in-office four days weekly for Minneapolis or DC-area projects, and regular travel up to 25% may be required depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of healthcare payer operations and/or technology experience in at least one payer domain (claims, enrollment/eligibility, billing, provider)
• 2+ years of external client-facing consulting experience
• 2+ years documenting consulting deliverables (requirements, features, user stories, test cases, mappings)
• 2+ years creating process flow diagrams
• 1+ years working with core administration systems (e.g., Facets, QNXT, Health Rules Payer, Tapestry)
• 1+ years managing a workstream
• 1+ years with PowerPoint and/or Visio
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 25%

Responsibilities

• Support projects for payer systems and applications by designing technical/business processes and owning deliverables
• Use enterprise AI tools to streamline workflows and drive improvement
• Contribute to team problem solving across projects
• Structure team sessions for discovery and problem solving
• Facilitate client discovery sessions to capture requirements
• Create deliverables translating business needs to technical requirements
• Participate in PI planning, grooming, and sprint planning
• Lead or participate in practice development projects
• Communicate risks with actionable recommendations
• Prepare high-quality deliverable documentation and review sessions
