Job summary

PKS Paving in Lithia Springs, GA is seeking a Paving Crew Foreman to plan, direct, and oversee asphalt paving projects. You will lead field crews, coordinate schedules, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery within budget.

You will work closely with office and field teams, evaluate project documentation, and communicate with management, sales, and clients to maintain project standards and company integrity throughout each phase of construction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in paving or asphalt construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of asphalt paving methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, dust).
• Willingness to travel or work away from home as needed.
• Availability for nights, weekends, and overtime when required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for interaction with staff, clients, and the public.
• Proficiency with basic technology (tablets, project management software, and digital reporting tools).
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Must comply with company drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Demonstrates professionalism, adaptability, attention to detail, and a positive, goal-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and documents to help estimate materials, labor, and equipment needs.
• Manage objectives, timelines, and budgets to meet quality standards.
• Supervise daily paving operations and coordinate schedules, trucking, and subcontractors.
• Assess and mitigate risks while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Communicate with sales, scheduling, management, crews, subcontractors, and clients on-site.
• Manage and track changes, including change orders.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Coordinate with departments to align resources for deadlines.
• Optimize field operations and paving techniques for productivity and quality.
• Oversee hiring and development of foremen and crews.
• Monitor crew hours to ensure budget adherence and policy compliance.
• Complete daily dispatch sheets and provide clear field instructions.
• Ensure timesheets and reports are submitted accurately.
• Review daily reports and Pavement Soft entries for accuracy.
• Use survey equipment to verify grading, slope, and drainage.
• Ensure subgrade and base materials meet specifications.
• Monitor asphalt placement for quality and make corrections.
• Promote PPE usage and a Safety First culture.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
