Job summary

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional in-house patternmaker to join our team. This role will be responsible for leading pattern development from concept through production, ensuring garments are executed with exceptional fit, construction, and technical accuracy. This role will work on a variety of categories and techniques, including draping and drafting for wovens, tailoring, cut-and-sew knits, and eveningwear.

Collaborating with a dedicated team across Design, Product Development, and Production, the ideal candidate combines an advanced knowledge of fit, proportion, garment engineering, and manufacturing to support luxury craftsmanship and strong product execution within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret design concepts into 1st patterns through draping and flat patternmaking.
  • Uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship, precision, fit, and quality across all products.
  • Attend and conduct fittings, translating design intent into technical comments and pattern updates.
  • Own pattern lifecycle and revisions through production approval. Ensure all patterns are finalized and approved within calendars and key deadlines.
  • Review and evaluate samples for fit, proportion, balance, construction, and overall execution.
  • Ensure consistency of fit and sizing across categories and seasons. Partner with the production grading team to maintain design, fit integrity, and proportion throughout the grading and marker-making process.
  • Maintain and manage comprehensive pattern archives, ensuring accurate documentation and version control throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • 7–10 years of patternmaking experience within luxury womenswear
  • Demonstrated mastery across soft wovens, tailoring, cut-and-sew knits, and eveningwear.
  • Ability to interpret design sketches and translate concepts into production-conscious patterns.
  • Comfort in a fast-paced atelier environment.
  • Experience conducting and participating in fittings with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of grading, manufacturing processes, and production requirements.
  • Proficiency in Gerber, Optitex, CLO, or similar patternmaking software a plus.
  • Positive attitude and sense of humor
