Job summary

UW Health in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking a Senior Patient Transporter to lead a team responsible for moving inpatients to and from nursing units, therapy areas, and laboratories. This full-time role requires coordinating equipment like wheelchairs and stretchers while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The Senior Transporter will guide staff, manage transport requests through the Patient Transport information system, and uphold all safety policies.

Qualifications

• One year of relevant direct clinical patient care experience (Required). Six (6) months of experience as a UW Health Patient Services Aide may be considered to meet this requirement.
• CPR certification or the ability to receive certification within 60 days of hire (Required).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team that provides transportation services to inpatients across nursing units and therapy/laboratory areas.
• Coordinate movement of patient transport equipment (wheelchairs and stretchers).
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and that patient comfort and safety are maintained during transport.
• Address phone and online patient transport requests and coordinate responses via the Patient Transport information system.
