Job summary

UW Health in Madison seeks a Patient Services Aide to safely transport patients within University Hospital and Children's Hospital, delivering courteous service and protecting patient privacy.

This full-time role offers evenings 2:30 PM–11:00 PM with rotating weekends/holidays; training on the Patient Transport system; and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, PTO, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred).
• Relevant patient care experience in a healthcare environment (Preferred).
• CPR certification or the ability to receive certification within 60 days of hire (Required).

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service while safely transporting patients to and from nursing units and various therapy/laboratory areas throughout the University Hospital and the American Family Children’s Hospital.
• Ensure timely transportation and patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout the transport.
• Utilize the Patient Transport information system to acquire and record transactional records regarding all transport requests.
• Document transport information on daily log sheets and obtain signatures from clinical staff for all cancelations, reschedules, and confirmations of patient drop-offs.

This is a full-time, 100% FTE position. Scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
