Job summary

UPMC East is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Technician Senior to support the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU). The CDU handles adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with a mix of Med Surg acUity.

The role involves 2 rotating 12-hour shifts weekly from 6a-6p and 6p-6a, with title determined by experience. Responsibilities include direct patient care, vital signs, I&O, specimen collection, and assisting with advanced tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, IV care, Foley management, and telemetry

Responsibilities

• Assists with core nursing assistant duties: ADLs (bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, turning, repositioning).
• Performs vital signs, I&O, blood glucose, weights, and specimen collection.
• Performs advanced clinical tasks per department need: phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, IV insertion/removal, Foley care, bladder scan.
