Job summary

Memorial Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Histology Technician to assist pathologists in preparing surgical specimens for histology and cytology, performing staining, sectioning, and slide preparation. The role emphasizes quality control, timely reporting, and adherence to laboratory regulations to support patient care.

Qualifications

Minimum of an Associate's degree required in Histology or a closely related field.
Training in an accredited hospital with certification/registry as HT(ASCP) or eligible.
At least three years of experience in Anatomic Pathology preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists pathologist in preparing specimens for histological and cytological examination.
Operates and maintains instruments, conducts staining, tissue cutting, and slide preparation.
Ensures accuracy of daily test results, quality control, and documentation.
Maintains equipment maintenance records and evidence of QC procedures.
Performs STAT tests and reports results within clinically appropriate timeframes.
Maintains inventory and supports new equipment/ procedures evaluations.
