Job summary

KAISER Laboratory Specialist IV, Pathology in Vallejo, California, seeks an experienced leader to oversee high-complexity pathology testing and tissue handling. You will ensure accuracy of results, mentor staff, and maintain strict quality and safety standards.

You will coordinate pre-analytical processes, support Mohs surgeries and autopsy-related duties as needed, and stay current with evolving methods and regulatory requirements to improve patient care.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a healthcare setting with at least one year in a supervisory role.
• Bachelor’s degree in medical lab science or equivalent; 4+ years of related experience or 7+ years alternative.
• Pathologist’s Assistant Certificate required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate pathology workflows to ensure accurate testing and reporting.
• Perform high-complexity tests and oversee pre-analytical tissue handling.
• Develop training materials and assess competency of personnel.
