Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a qualified professional to perform high-complexity tissue accessioning and gross examination under CLIA-88 guidance. The role involves preparing specimens, dissection, dictation, and coordinating with pathology to ensure accurate processing and testing.

The candidate will maintain compliance with safety and privacy policies while supporting QA standards and procedural updates within the lab environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with 60 semester hours including 24 hours MLT or 24 hours science.
• ABHES/CAHEA-approved clinical laboratory training or 3 months lab training in high complexity testing.
• CLIA-88 high-complexity testing personnel qualifications.
• Minimum one year of health care environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Accession and prepare tissue specimens for gross examination.
• Perform gross dissections of high and lower complexity cases.
• Perform gross dictations per department protocol.
• Hang tissue on processors and photograph specimens.
• Prepare tissue for further testing (e.g., phenotyping, iron studies).
• Maintain supplies and a clean workspace; handle hazardous waste safely.
• Adhere to Corporate Compliance and privacy policies.
