Job summary

HERS Advisors, partnering with a preeminent Los Angeles law firm, seeks a Patent Litigation Paralegal for their West Los Angeles office (hybrid). The role reports to department attorneys and supports a large patent docket across Federal, Appellate, Federal Circuit and ITC courts.

The candidate will assist with trial prep, document management, eDiscovery, and cross‑team coordination. Travel to trials may be required; experience in patent litigation is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• BA or BS preferred but not required with a combination of paralegal experience and ABA-approved certificate.
• 5+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
• Experience in Federal, Appellate, Federal Circuit and ITC courts preferred.
• Patent Litigation experience preferred but training will be provided.
• Willingness to travel within-state and out-of-state for trials.

Responsibilities

• Assist with management of a large Patent Litigation caseload in Federal, Appellate, Federal Circuit and ITC courts.
• Support trial preparation, attend trials, and manage post-trial breakdowns including logistics and contracts.
• Perform paralegal tasks: TOCs, TOAs, legal research, exhibit lists, deposition designations and demonstratives, E-filing.
• Coordinate document productions including source codes, privilege logs and redaction requests.
• Review court rules and procedures to conform to guidelines.
• Use Boolean search operators in eDiscovery to assist with document review and exhibit lists.
• Familiarity with Everlaw is a plus.
• Monitor junior paralegals and legal assistants on case management tasks.
• Track time into the firm’s timekeeping system daily.
