The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) invites experienced professionals to join the Patents Corps as a Supervisory Patent Examiner.

You will lead senior staff, coordinate patent examination activities, and contribute to an agency focused on protecting intellectual property and fostering innovation. This role emphasizes leadership in a dynamic federal environment, adherence to federal qualification standards, and the ability to apply legal and technical expertise.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience must be in a field appropriate to patent examination.
• Graduate education must be in a field related to the position to be filled.
• Time-in-grade requirements per 5 CFR 300.604 apply by closing date.
• Selective Placement Factor: Must have full signatory authority.
• Volunteer and other qualifying experiences creditable as paid experience.
