Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in Seattle, WA seeks a senior patent attorney to join its Life Sciences Patent Practice Group in a hybrid role. Responsibilities include patent preparation and prosecution, licensing, opinion drafting, and due diligence, with collaboration across clients, inventors, and fellow attorneys. Candidates should have 15+ years in chemical patent practice (pharma/diagnostics/materials), plus organic chemistry experience.

J.D. required; USPTO admission preferred.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in chemical patent practice, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and materials science.
• Industry experience of at least two years in organic chemistry.
• Pharmaceutical patent experience is a plus.
• Superior analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft patent applications and work with the USPTO to resolve examiner questions.
• Assist clients with patent licensing and infringement issues.
• Provide support to the litigation department.
• Advise clients on patent use and protection.
• Identify and monitor intellectual property.
• Develop business relationships with clients and inventors.
