This hybrid position involves patent preparation and prosecution, patent licensing, opinion drafting, and conducting due diligence. The role requires collaboration with clients, inventors, and attorneys.
Draft patent applications and work with the USPTO to resolve examiner questions. Assist clients with patent licensing and infringement issues. Provide support to the litigation department. Advise clients on patent use and protection. Identify and monitor intellectual property. Attend meetings and conduct conference calls with clients domestically and internationally.Handle general inquiries on patent protection and renewals.File domestic and international patent applications.Develop business relationships.
15+ years of experience in chemical patent practice, specializing in pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and materials science.Industry experience of at least two years in organic chemistry.Patent experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.Superior analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
Advanced degree in organic chemistry.J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
