Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Program Specialist IV to support PASRR specialized services reviewers, adjudicate requests, and ensure accurate authorization decisions within the IDD Services and PASRR section.

This senior role provides policy clarification to providers, prepares monitoring reports, and participates in portal improvements while maintaining compliance with PASRR procedures and timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university is required.
• One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of education.
• Knowledge of reimbursement methodologies and claims processing preferred.
• Experience reviewing documentation and supporting resolution of complex payment concerns preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, adjudicate, and authorize PASRR specialized service requests for nursing facility clients.
• Provide technical assistance and policy clarification to external providers on PASRR procedures and rules.
• Develop program and quality monitoring policies and procedures for prior authorization of PASRR services.
• Participate in work groups and portal enhancements (UAT) for TMHP LTC online portal.
