Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher plus 1 year paraprofessional experience in related field.
• Alternative: High school diploma with 3 years of experience in law enforcement or related field.
• One year of Parole & Probation Specialist II experience in Nevada State service.

Responsibilities

• Conduct presentence investigations and prepare comprehensive reports for court panels.
• Interview offenders in office, jail, and correctional settings; gather collateral information.
• Research and verify criminal history information; assess risk and needs of offenders.
• Review law enforcement reports, court documents, and victim impact information.
• Document offender information in records management systems and maintain case files.
• Prepare reports and statistical documentation; ensure compliance with deadlines and policies.
• Communicate with judicial partners and provide referrals or resources to offenders as appropriate.
• Appear in court when required and provide testimony on investigation findings and recommendations.
