Job summary

The Department of Public Safety in Las Vegas is recruiting for Parole and Probation Specialist III to perform advanced investigative duties, presentence investigations, and comprehensive reporting for the District Court and Parole Board.

Incumbents interview offenders, verify histories, assess risk and needs, and prepare documentation for court proceedings while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with division policies.

Qualifications

• Responsible for researching and verifying information, interviewing offenders, and writing presentence reports.
• Experience preparing comprehensive reports for court and parole board.
• Ability to analyze complex information and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Conduct presentence investigations and prepare comprehensive reports for the District Court and Parole Board.
• Interview offenders in office, jail, and correctional settings; research and verify criminal history information and conduct risk and needs assessments.
• Review law enforcement reports, court documents, and victim impact information; determine restitution amounts and gather information from collateral sources.
