The City of Appleton Wisconsin is accepting applications for a Deputy Director of Parks & Recreation. This management role provides strategic leadership, oversees Parks, Recreation, Facilities Management, and Reid Golf Course divisions, and supports department planning, budgets, and programs to meet community needs.

The Deputy Director collaborates with City departments, partners, and the public to advance capital projects, master plans, and citywide initiatives, shaping a vibrant, accessible

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Parks Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Facilities Management, or related field.
• Six years of progressively responsible parks and recreation administrative experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides executive leadership to Parks, Recreation, Facilities Management, and Golf Course leadership teams.
• Oversees annual operating and capital budgets and supports capital projects.
• Develops strategic plans, master plans, and department policies.
• Cultivates partnerships with schools, government agencies, community organizations, businesses, and stakeholders.
• Represents the department in meetings, public events, and communications.
