Job summary

City of Seattle’s Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) is seeking a Construction Manager to lead a team delivering complex park infrastructure projects citywide. You will oversee contract development, procurement, and construction through the full lifecycle, coordinating with architects, engineers, and public agencies to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive public works experience, and a commitment to public service.

Qualifications

• Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience managing complex public construction projects.
• Five (5) years supervisory experience overseeing teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field OR equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, development, and execution of construction projects across parks.
• Manage in-house team and consultants.
• Develop and administer public works contracts.
• Ensure delivery on time and on schedule in a matrix organization.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors and stakeholders.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
