Job summary

City of Sunny Isles Beach seeks a Parks Maintenance Manager to supervise daily operations of the Parks Division, oversee grounds maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness across parks, athletic facilities, and beach access areas.

The role plans and implements maintenance programs, manages budgets and staff, coordinates with vendors, and leads capital projects while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and high public service standards for city parks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; minimum four years in park/facility maintenance.
• Three years of supervising maintenance staff; strong leadership and communication skills.
• ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700 required within three months of hire; incident management knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and oversee daily Parks Division operations and personnel.
• Oversee budgets, payroll, procurement, and vendor/contract management.
• Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and landscaping projects; support capital improvements.
• Lead emergency management and storm response; document work during emergencies.
• Ensure health and safety compliance; train staff and enforce safety policies.
• Support city events and facility maintenance; interact with residents and departments.
