Job summary

City of Sunny Isles Beach is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Support to manage park operations, patrols, and facility upkeep across City parks. Responsibilities include enforcing rules, assisting the public, basic first aid, and coordinating with Police when needed.

The role involves performing preventive maintenance, operating tools and equipment, maintaining logs, and supporting special events. A high school diploma and 2+ years in park maintenance are preferred; CDL is not required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Two or more years of related experience performing similar duties in facility or park maintenance.
• Any acceptable related combination of training and experience. One year related coursework or experience in park management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor park activities and enforce City rules and regulations by counseling and issuing warnings.
• Provide information and assistance to the public regarding City services, programs and facilities.
• Ensure visitors abide by maintenance rules within Special Event Permits and ongoing permits at parks and facilities.
• Perform security checks on buildings.
• Prevent vandalism and report criminal activity or vandalism to Police.
• Provide basic first aid and CPR.
• Perform daily inspection of facilities/grounds and maintain logs; report issues.
• Assist with events and setup/breakdown of chairs, tables, tents and supplies.
• Use tools and equipment safely for repair and maintenance tasks.
• Handle maintenance responsibilities within grounds, operate equipment and pick up trash.
• Perform general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, painting, and mechanical tasks.
• Maintain facility housekeeping: cleaning restrooms, floors, etc.
• Operate and maintain City vehicles as assigned.
• May assist with cost control measures and inventory; monitor vendor contracts.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
