Job summary

City of Farmington is seeking a Senior Superintendent of Park Operations to lead daily park maintenance, facilities, and staffing for a broad Parks Operations Division. You will oversee budgets, grants, and capital projects under the Deputy Director, ensuring safe, efficient, and quality park services.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a related field (Master's preferred), five years of supervisory experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Drug and Alcohol Testing policy applies (pre-employment, post-accident, etc.).
• Knowledge of park operations administration and federal/state regulations.
• Ability to supervise and evaluate personnel; maintain professional relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet software; basic office equipment.
• Ability to prepare/maintain records and reports; budgeting knowledge.
• Bachelor's degree as listed; five years supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work varied hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Park Operations Division, including maintenance, grounds, fields, trails, facilities, and equipment.
• Supervise seasonal, temporary, and regular staff; train, evaluate, and assist with hiring decisions.
• Develop and monitor Park Operations budget; track contracts and grants as assigned.
• Establish maintenance standards; manage staffing and resources for safe operations.
• Prepare routine and special reports; coordinate with City Council and departments.
• Coordinate capital improvement projects and bid procedures.
• Support city events and community engagements; ensure customer focus and service.
