Job summary

SAFEbuilt seeks a Parks Maintenance Superintendent to lead the City of Weston’s Parks & Recreation maintenance program, overseeing preventive and reactive care of playgrounds, lighting, fencing, and park structures.

This leadership role manages contractors, develops work orders, and monitors safety and compliance to deliver high-quality, safe, and visually appealing park spaces for residents and visitors. The position requires coordinating with city staff and responding to emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate’s Degree in a related field and 5+ years in parks or facilities maintenance preferred.
• Experience supervising contractors and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with safety standards and incident reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance of city parks facilities, playgrounds, and hardscapes.
• Develop contractor scopes of work and manage bid processes.
• Prepare and track work orders, inspections, and project schedules.
• Monitor safety programs and ensure adherence to ASTM standards for playgrounds and equipment.
• Coordinate with Director and city staff to manage budgets and expenditures.
• Respond to emergencies, provide 24/7 call readiness during incidents.
