Job summary

Saint Michael Parish (Olympia) invites a Pastoral Associate for Parish Ministries to lead faith formation, catechesis, liturgy, and pastoral care under the pastor. This senior role directs ministries for children, youth and adults, coordinating sacraments and ensuring programs align with Archdiocesan guidance.

With a bachelor’s in ministry/theology and at least five years of parish leadership, you will supervise staff and volunteers, shape vision, and manage budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ministry, theology or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of five years of leadership experience in parish ministry.
• Demonstrated experience supervising staff and volunteers.
• Strong pastoral, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Evening and weekend work will be required for liturgical celebrations, sacramental preparation, retreats, parish formation opportunities, and seasonal ministry events.
• Model Christian discipleship through active practice of Catholic faith, servant leadership, collaboration and pastoral charity.

Responsibilities

• Promote and advance the parish mission in all parish ministry initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Pastor and parish leadership in developing and implementing parish vision and strategic priorities including parish mission, vision, priorities, staffing, and ministry development.
• Oversee faith formation and catechesis, lifelong formation and sacramental preparation.
• Provide leadership and foster collaboration among ministries to create seamless transitions between stages of lifelong formation.
• Direct the daily operations of the Office for Parish Ministry and supervise assigned staff.
• Ensure compliance with Archdiocesan policies, Safe Environment requirements, and parish procedures.
