Job description

SENIOR PARALEGAL

JOB DESCRIPTION: Singleton Schreiber, LLP is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Senior Paralegal to lead our fire Settlement team(s). This fast-paced role supports attorneys in litigation in state and federal courts, including post-settlement processes.

This is a remote position available to California-based applicants.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

$38.00-$43.00 per hour. Salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, and qualifications.

JOB DUTIES:

  1. Communicate regularly with clients and take the lead on client issues.
  2. Support and mentor case assistants and paralegals regarding legal questions and processes; work independently.
  3. Draft, review, finalize, file, and serve settlement agreements, dismissals, and minors' compromises across multiple jurisdictions including California, Oregon, Colorado, New Mexico, Washington, Texas, and Hawaii.
  4. Draft, review, finalize, and track settlement disbursement agreements post-settlement.
  5. Conduct quality control audits of team work products.
  6. Manage case-related deadlines using electronic calendaring systems.
  7. Support internal litigation and damages teams as needed.
  8. Build and maintain relationships with defense counsel and coordinate regarding deadlines.
  9. Upload and update client information in case management databases.
  10. Draft legal documents, correspondence, and court forms with minimal oversight, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  11. Stay informed of civil procedure rules in state and federal courts, including CM/ECF and Pacer filings.
  12. Manage electronic information and document management systems.
  13. Create and utilize document generation templates.
  14. Ensure compliance with local rules and professional responsibilities, particularly regarding client notifications of funds and timely distributions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Possess a paralegal certificate or meet Bus. & Prof. Code § 6450 requirements.
  2. Have 5+ years of experience handling casework and paralegal tasks.
  3. Experience with case management software, preferably FileVine.
  4. Proficient in Adobe, Excel, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
  5. Familiar with E-Discovery tools and programs like Sharefile, PACER, CaseAnywhere, Lexis, Smart Advocate, Everlaw, FileVine, and OneLegal.
  6. Detail-oriented, organized, reliable, and capable of multitasking under tight deadlines.
  7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
