Job summary

Sidley Austin LLP in Chicago seeks a Paralegal Senior Manager to lead the paralegal and project assistant department serving ~500 lawyers. You will oversee performance, staffing, recruiting, and policy application, partnering with HR and practice groups.

Responsibilities include coaching, onboarding, training, timekeeping oversight, and reporting to optimize utilization and ensure wage-hour compliance. Hybrid work arrangement and a competitive compensation package are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 10 years in professional services or related field.
• 5 years managing at least 15 direct/indirect reports.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of the Chicago paralegal and project assistant staff.
• Oversee timekeeping, wage-hour compliance, and related reporting.
• Develop staffing strategies with HR and practice group heads to address talent needs.
• Recruit, interview, and select paralegal and project assistant staff.
• Coach and develop high performers and manage performance reviews.
