Tru Staffing Inc. is working with a leading Am Law firm in Chicago, IL, to recruit a Paralegal Senior Manager who will lead the Chicago Paralegal and Project Assistant team supporting approximately 500 attorneys across multiple practice areas.

This highly visible leadership role partners with firm leadership and Human Resources to oversee staffing, performance management, recruiting, onboarding, professional development, utilization, and department operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Several years of professional services or related experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of the Chicago Paralegal and Project Assistant department.
• Supervise the Paralegal Supervisor and staff.
• Collaborate with peers to implement consistent policies and best practices.
• Develop departmental plans and priorities for staffing and resources.
• Build relationships with attorneys, administrative leaders, and business professionals.
• Coordinate workforce planning and staffing strategies with leadership and HR.
• Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding of paralegals and project assistants.
• Oversee onboarding and ongoing training programs for staff.
• Evaluate training needs and support continuing education initiatives.
• Oversee department technology and reporting on utilization and billable hours.
