Job summary

Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA in Dublin, Ohio is seeking a Paralegal to support two attorneys in the Dublin office. This role performs substantive legal work requiring thorough knowledge of legal concepts and strong research and drafting skills.

Responsibilities include legal research, case management, drafting briefs and pleadings, reviewing transcripts, coordinating subpoenas, and assisting with filings and billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification required.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant legal experience.
• Extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures, and legal terminology.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to research, analyze and problem-solve.

Responsibilities

• Perform legal research to determine relevance of evidence.
• Manage cases with monthly billing quota.
• Answer questions on complex or technical work matters.
• Assist attorneys with complex case files and pleadings.
• Draft briefs, pleadings, correspondence, affidavits.
• Attend depositions and review transcripts.
• Review files and locate missing or incomplete records.
• Contact clients, debtors, attorneys, and courts for updates.
• Negotiate settlements and asset/collateral returns.
• Prepare evidence exhibits and trial materials.
• Monitor client billings and prepare billing statements.
• Coordinate service of subpoenas and notices.
• Liaise between client and attorney.
• Arrange payment of costs.
• Maintain knowledge of procedures and deadlines.
• Complete required training.
• Regular attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.
