Job summary

The Colorado Attorney General's Office is seeking a Paralegal II to support the Corrections Unit in civil rights litigation, handling motions, discovery, witness preparation, and trial support in state and federal courts. You will organize case files, file electronically, and coordinate with client agencies to gather and manage discovery materials.

Residency in Colorado is required. A paralegal certificate and one year of experience are requested, with substitutions allowed.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate through an ABA-approved program or an accredited institution.
• One year of paralegal experience.
• Two years of paralegal work with research and drafting documents can substitute for the certificate.
• A Juris Doctorate may substitute for the certificate; transcripts must be provided for substitutions.
• Foreign degree translations may be required for credit.

Responsibilities

• Support Corrections Unit attorneys with motions practice and discovery.
• Prepare witnesses for hearings and trials; attend trials in state and federal court.
• Code and cite-check briefs; prepare exhibits and trial notebooks.
• Organize case files and manage electronic filing in courts.
• Coordinate with client agencies to gather discovery and manage documents.
