A nationally recognized plaintiffs’ litigation firm is seeking experienced Class Action and PAGA Paralegals to join its employment litigation team. These hybrid positions may be based in Los Angeles or Emeryville.
This is an excellent opportunity for accomplished paralegals who want to contribute to meaningful, high-stakes litigation at a well-established national firm.
The Role
- Support attorneys handling plaintiff-side employment class actions and PAGA matters.
- Assist with cases from initial investigation through discovery, mediation, settlement, and trial preparation.
- Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, notices, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
- Review payroll, timekeeping, personnel, scheduling, and employment records.
- Assist with damages calculations and wage-and-hour analyses.
- Coordinate document collection, review, production, and e-discovery.
- Support class certification motions, mediation submissions, and settlement approval filings.
- Manage court deadlines, discovery calendars, hearings, depositions, and filing requirements.
- Perform electronic filing in California state and federal courts.
- Prepare deposition materials, exhibits, witness files, hearing binders, and trial materials.
- Coordinate with clients, class members, experts, vendors, opposing counsel, and settlement administrators.
- Maintain accurate and well-organized case files and litigation databases.
Qualifications
- 5 or more years of litigation paralegal experience.
- Substantive experience with employment class actions and PAGA matters.
- Knowledge of California wage-and-hour claims, including overtime, meal and rest periods, off-the-clock work, wage statements, final pay, reimbursement, and related penalties.
- Experience supporting litigation in California state and federal courts.
- Familiarity with discovery, class certification, mediation, and class settlement procedures.
- Strong e-discovery, document-management, and case-organization skills.
- Excellent writing, proofreading, communication, and deadline-management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple complex matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment, initiative, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Qualification under California Business and Professions Code section 6450.
