Job summary

Axiom Custom Products in Portland, OR is seeking an experienced Painter to deliver flawless finishes for custom fabrication projects, from retail displays to museum exhibits. You will master surface prep, priming, spraying, and finishing, ensuring color, texture, and sheen meet exacting standards.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with HVLP and conventional spray equipment, can work with wood, metal, plastics, and composites, and takes pride in craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a paint finisher, industrial painter, automotive painter, or cabinet finisher in manufacturing or fabrication environments.
• Strong understanding of paint systems, surface prep, spray techniques, color matching and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by sanding, cleaning, filling imperfections, masking, and staging parts for paint application.
• Mix paints, primers, sealers, stains, and clear coats according to manufacturer specs and apply coatings with professional spray equipment.
• Document processes, monitor drying/curing times, inspect work for quality, and perform touch-ups to ensure a flawless final appearance.
• Collaborate with fabrication, assembly, and project teams to ensure projects meet client specifications and schedules.
