Job summary

TrinityRail in Jonesboro, AR is seeking a Senior Painter to prepare, coat and finish metal surfaces. You will operate conventional and airless spray equipment, mix various coatings and ensure proper dispersion and drying. The role requires 2–4 years of experience and strict adherence to safety and paperwork.

This is a hands-on coating position in a manufacturing setting, focusing on exterior and interior finishes and preventative maintenance of painting systems.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years’ experience in painting or coatings
• Ability to follow verbal or simple written instructions

Responsibilities

• Prepare, coat and finish metal and other surfaces with industrial paint finishes
• Operate conventional and airless spray equipment and adjust spray nozzle for proper dispersion
• Mix and apply alkyds, epoxies, urethanes and waterborne paints according to formulas
• Maintain paint lines and equipment, monitor viscosity and cleaning of tools
• Follow safety rules and keep required paperwork up to date

Trinity Rail is hiring a Senior Painter at our Jonesboro plant.

The Senior Painter position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team-minded individual who does not stray away from a challenge. As a member of the coating’s family at Trinity, you will prepare, coat, and finish metal and/or other surfaces. Operate conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal and other types of surfaces. Mixes and applies alkyds, epoxies, gel coats, urethane, zinc epoxies and waterborne paint systems according to a prescribed formula. Adjusts nozzles on spray guns to obtain the proper dispersion of the spray and monitors the flow and viscosity of the paint for solution. Poper use of mill gauge and monitors pressure amount. Cleans paint lines, paint guns, and performs other cleaning preventative maintenance to ensure that painting apparatus remains in working order. Regulates the temperature and air circulation in drying ovens. May also perform duties of Prep Worker. Initiates and maintains all applicable paperwork as required. Follows all safety rules and practices. Performs other duties as assigned. Prepares materials, surfaces and structures for coverage with paint, laminate, rubber or otherwise. Applies coatings to specifications and completes detailed special applications as appropriate to the surface and final product requirements.

• Proficient at most interior coatings & applications
• Proficient at sealing/baking final interior coatings
