Job summary

Hampshire County Council’s Children and Families Occupational Therapy Service is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist (HCPC registered) to deliver person-centred assessments and lead high-risk, complex cases to support disabled children to thrive at home.

You’ll supervise and mentor teams, collaborate with health professionals and local authorities, and contribute to service development across East Hampshire with office bases in Havant, Alton and Basingstoke, with occasional countywide

Qualifications

• Occupational Therapy qualification and HCPC registration are required.
• Experience in paediatric and/or adults' social care, community or hospital-based services.
• Understanding statutory duties of local government in social care and related legislation.
• Ability to supervise and support a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong assessment leadership and caseload management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex casework: assess, plan and manage high-risk cases for children with disabilities and related home adaptations.
• Provide regular supervision and support to Occupational Therapists, students and assistants.
• Review waiting lists, authorise referrals, allocate cases and brief team members.
• Foster partnership working with health professionals, borough/district/city councils and housing associations.
• Encourage ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
