Great Hire in Chatsworth, CA is seeking a Lead Packaging Designer to direct the design and development of structural packaging and retail displays (POP, corrugated, folding carton).

You will create CAD drawings, dielines, prototypes, and production layouts, ensuring manufacturability and alignment with client specs. Expect collaboration with Sales, PMs, and clients to translate concepts into feasible structural solutions.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of experience in structural design for packaging, displays or print.
• Proven experience designing retail displays (POP/POS) and corrugated packaging.
• Proficiency in CAD design software (e.g., ArtiosCAD, Adobe Suite).
• Strong understanding of corrugated and paperboard materials.
• Knowledge of printing and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of structural packaging and retail display solutions (POP, corrugated, folding carton).
• Create CAD drawings, dielines, and prototypes for production.
• Create and optimize production layouts to maximize efficiency and material utilization.
• Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and structural integrity.
• Ensure designs align with production capabilities and timelines.
• Troubleshoot design and production challenges as they arise.
• Oversee sample development and ensure prototypes meet expectations.
• Partner closely with Sales, Project Managers, and Clients to translate concepts into structural solutions.
• Support client presentations, including explaining structural concepts and design intent.
