Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America seeks a design professional to create packaging and POP displays, translating customer needs into drawings, prototypes, and production-ready concepts. You will develop materials and methods to meet requirements while leveraging plant capabilities and vendor coordination.

The role requires a bachelor’s in design or related field and 4+ years of packaging experience, with strong CAD, Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, packaging, or related field.
• Four or more years of packaging and POP display experience.
• Strong knowledge of production methods and printing.
• Experience with CAD software and computer aided design tools.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced design skills for packaging and point of service displays.
• Translate customer needs into drawings, designs, and prototypes.
• Develop materials and production methods to meet requirements and utilize plant facilities.
• Create samples for customer inspection and production orders.
• Perform packaging testing and advise sales, manufacturing, and customers.
• Evaluate existing packaging for improvements in style, function, and cost.
• Conduct design reviews with customers.
• Generate product cost data including run speeds and material usage.
• Coordinate graphics, prototypes, and samples with vendors and dies.
• Provide technical assistance to Sales and Customer Service on layouts and order specs.
• Provide training and guidance to junior designers.
