Job summary

Southwire Company is seeking a Packaging Engineer to develop packaging equipment and materials ensuring safe, attractive transport of goods. You will analyze drawings and specs to optimize packaging for safety, efficiency, and compliance.

Responsibilities include leading specification development, coaching junior engineers, improving processes, documenting standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality packaging solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

• Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree.
• Years of Experience: 5-7 Years.
• Licenses/Certificates: Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and leads the specification development process, ensuring complex technical specs meet standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coaches and mentors junior engineers and technical staff on specification development.
• Conducts analysis of product specifications for customer requirements, safety standards, and regulations.
• Designs systems to improve specification processes across the lifecycle.
• Develops detailed technical documentation and design standards.
• Implements processes to improve specification management and reduce errors.
• Engages stakeholders to align specifications with customer needs and market trends.
• Coordinates cross-functional discussions to drive consensus on requirements and changes.
• Provides leadership for operational tasks and coaching for junior team members.
