Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking a packaging engineer to develop equipment and materials for safe, efficient transport of goods. You will analyze drawings, define optimal packaging solutions, and help ensure safety, compliance, and cost targets.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, design using CAD tools, develop prototypes, test performance, and drive improvements in manufacturability and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 2–4 years of related experience.
• Engineering discipline preferred; EIT certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage product development across design stages with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze complex product designs and propose improvements based on specs and standards.
• Design product solutions using CAD tools while ensuring safety, quality and manufacturability.
• Develop prototypes and perform testing, documenting results for iterative improvement.
• Coordinate cross-functional development with manufacturing, QA and marketing to meet timelines.
• Suggest design modifications to enhance function, usability, or cost-effectiveness.
