Job summary

Baxters North America Inc. seeks a Strategic Sourcing Commodity Manager-Packaging to lead packaging sourcing strategy and supplier negotiations. You will drive category plans, optimize cost, quality, and supply continuity across corrugated, films, labels, cartons and related components.

With 7+ years in food manufacturing procurement, you will work with NPD, Quality, and Operations to ensure packaging compliance while managing supplier performance through KPIs and scorecards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in food manufacturing or related procurement roles.
• Experience developing and executing sourcing strategies for packaging materials.
• Strong market insight into packaging supply chains and sustainability trends.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies for packaging materials.
• Lead supplier negotiations and contracting to achieve cost savings.
• Monitor packaging market trends and cost drivers for decisions.
• Collaborate with NPD, Quality, and Operations on packaging compliance.
• Manage supplier performance via KPIs and scorecards.
• Optimize lead times and inventory planning to meet production needs.
• Develop category plans aligned with business strategy for cost optimization.
• Provide analysis of supplier markets to identify opportunities and risks.
• Support S&OP and budgeting with procurement inputs and timelines.
• Maintain reporting and documentation for sourcing and supplier management.
• Ensure pricing accuracy; manage vendor claims and variances.
• Build strategic supplier relationships for reliability and sustainability.
• Collaborate with production to ensure product safety and quality.
