Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist, Packaging to drive sourcing strategies across the U.S. region. You will partner with Global Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain, and site teams to deliver sustainable cost savings and negotiate contracts.

The role requires strong analytical capabilities, experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Travel up to 15% is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or a related function.
• Strong procurement expertise, including strategic sourcing, contract management, supplier negotiations, and supplier relationship management.
• Experience delivering against KPI such as cost savings, cycle time improvements, and supplier performance metrics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to develop business cases and drive solutions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Word; ability to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Implement packaging category procurement strategies across the U.S. region.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to support business and operational needs.
• Drive value creation and cost savings through strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Lead competitive sourcing events, including RFIs, RFPs, and supplier evaluations.
• Conduct supplier negotiations and manage supplier relationships to achieve favorable commercial outcomes.
• Analyze supplier proposals, market trends, and cost structures to support sourcing decisions.
• Develop and manage project plans, ensuring successful execution of multiple procurement initiatives.
• Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Legal, Quality, and Risk Management teams.
• Support the development and execution of contracts, statements of work, and procurement standards.
• Build category expertise through market intelligence, supplier assessments, and industry analysis.
• Track, analyze, and report key procurement metrics, including savings and supplier performance.
• Ensure compliance with Abbott policies, procurement procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
