Job summary

L’Oréal Operations – Clark, New Jersey seeks an Associate Principal Engineer to validate packaging for new launches, formula renovations, and packaging changes. Based in our Clark hub, you will lead test plans, manage TRs, and partner with suppliers to ensure quality and compliance.

You’ll drive risk assessments, oversee lab work, and mentor peers while advancing packaging science across the network. Strong collaboration and hands-on cosmetics packaging experience are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant scientific field required.
5–7+ years of hands-on packaging engineering and qualification experience.
Experience in cosmetics or consumer goods preferred.
Strong knowledge of packaging materials and testing processes.

Responsibilities

Review pre-specifications and define comprehensive test plans.
Validate testing results for CDC compatibility, helicoidal retention, and decoration adherence.
Coordinate with external suppliers for audits and upskilling.
Lead lab processes, risk analyses, and decision making per quality processes.
Manage multiple projects and prioritize testing to meet timelines.
Communicate results and propose solutions to stakeholders.
