Job summary

AbbVie in Illinois seeks a Category Manager of Primary Packaging Non-Injectables to lead end-to-end procurement, develop global strategies, and manage cross-functional teams across AbbVie’s manufacturing sites.

You will define strategic value drivers, integrate ESG measures, oversee supplier management & innovation, and mitigate procurement risk while aligning with business goals. Requires 7+ years in procurement and a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Mgmt or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related field.
• Experience partnering with major suppliers and reporting to senior leaders.
• Strong negotiation and bidding skills with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement processes and develop global strategies.
• Build a comprehensive annual strategic plan for the category.
• Lead cross-functional teams within AbbVie manufacturing sites.
• Define strategic value drivers with key suppliers for cost savings.
• Integrate ESG measures into category strategies and supplier collaboration.
• Lead Supplier Management & Innovation (SMI) strategies and risk mitigation.
• Direct project management and drive data-driven continuous improvements.
• Own negotiation preparation and lead negotiations with suppliers.
