Job summary

Ashton North LLC in DuPage County, IL seeks a Lead Packaging Maintenance Mechanic to maintain high-speed packaging lines in a modern plant. This is a top-level mechanic role with oversight of preventive maintenance and CMMS usage.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, rebuild machinery, mentor junior technicians, and collaborate with operations and engineering on improvement projects. Overtime up to 50 hours; competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of maintenance experience in high-speed food packaging, co-packing, or food manufacturing.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting ability; no full electrician credentials required.
• CMMS experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED; AAS degree or technical certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keep high-speed packaging and processing equipment running across a large, multi-line plant.
• Rebuild and refurbish machinery to like-new condition during planned and emergency downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults on baggers, sealers, scales, and supporting equipment; fix them without waiting for help.
• Handle electrical troubleshooting and repairs on the lines as part of daily work.
• Teach and mentor junior technicians, passing along expertise.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks and log all work in the CMMS.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering on improvement projects.
