We are currently seeking a Senior Packaging Line Operator for our Phoenix, AZ location.

Scope of Position:

The Senior Packaging Line Operator supports packaging operations in a fast-paced nutraceutical manufacturing environment. This role requires hands-on experience operating packaging machinery, including bottling, capping, labeling, and sealing equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and capable of troubleshooting minor equipment issues to ensure smooth and efficient production.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor a variety of packaging machinery including fillers, cappers, labelers, and conveyors.
  • Set up equipment for daily production runs, including performing changeovers and basic adjustments as needed.
  • Perform visual inspections and quality checks on packaging components and finished goods.
  • Identify and resolve minor mechanical issues and escalate major malfunctions to maintenance.
  • Guide and assist line workers with best practices to maintain efficiency and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company SOPs, GMP guidelines, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate production records and downtime logs.
  • Train junior packaging staff and support onboarding of new operators.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance line performance and minimize waste.

Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of GMP, HACCP, and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • High mechanical proficiency with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This position takes place 100% of the time within a production facility. Regularly exposed to noise from machinery and to different nutraceutical powders and ingredients.

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. or more regularly.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Bend, scoop, and reach overhead.
  • Comfortable working in a production environment with exposure to varying products and noise levels.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional overtime based on production needs.

Travel:

None required.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical or vocational training in manufacturing or machinery operation is a plus.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating packaging equipment in a nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or food production environment.
