Job summary

Henkel’s Consumer Brands unit seeks a Packaging Technical Specialist to coordinate materials, testing, and equipment, supporting new product launches and package qualifications. You will manage lab operations, ensure SHE compliance, and train technicians and interns to maintain capabilities.

You’ll partner with Packaging Engineers to assess testing needs, prioritize workload, perform hands-on testing, and coordinate activities with staff to ensure timely project support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science, with 4+ years of packaging laboratory experience or relevant hands-on industry experience.
• Ability to manage packaging laboratory operations and testing workflows, including prioritizing workload and coordinating multiple projects.
• Hands-on technical expertise with packaging materials, testing methodologies, and laboratory equipment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to supervise technicians, interns, and temporary staff.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented, and results-driven with proficiency in laboratory software and tools including Minitab.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate materials, testing, testing equipment, reports, maintenance, and administration related to equipment capabilities to support new product launches and package qualifications.
• Provide day-to-day operational management of the Packaging Lab ensuring compliance with Henkel SHE standards, policies, and procedures.
• Communicate with package engineers on testing, and with suppliers regarding operation, calibration, and maintenance of lab equipment; train and supervise technicians and interns.
• Partner with Packaging Engineers to assess project testing requirements, prioritize lab workload, perform hands-on package testing, and coordinate testing activities among staff to ensure timely project support.
• Support development and expansion of lab capabilities by establishing standard work, evaluating new equipment, coordinating supplier demonstrations, and providing recommendations to improve performance.
