Job summary

Validation & Engineering Group, Inc. seeks a Principal Engineer, Packaging Equipment to lead design, development, qualification, and validation of packaging systems. You will collaborate with Manufacturing, R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Process Excellence to address packaging equipment needs.

The role involves directing packaging equipment engineers and contractors, developing risk-based plans, and driving improvements in OEE, compliance, quality, and cost across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical field is required.
• Advanced degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of GMP experience in consumer, OTC, or pharmaceutical industries.
• Extensive knowledge of packaging equipment, processes, and validation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute packaging equipment and validation assignments with risk mitigation.
• Lead packaging processes and equipment technologies across locations.
• Develop and execute packaging equipment validation strategies.
• Assess equipment limitations and develop technical solutions.
• Identify new packaging technologies and optimization opportunities.
• Develop packaging equipment specifications and project documentation.
• Write and align URS, SDS, line layouts, FAT/SAT, and QA protocols.
• Provide engineering support to Manufacturing and other departments.
• Lead line trials, studies, and process qualification activities.
