Job summary

Starbucks Corp. is seeking a Sr. Packaging Engineer to join the Packaging Engineering team.

You will develop new packaging and smallwares for Starbucks coffeehouses, including beverage/food packaging and dispensers. You will create detailed specs, lead projects through validation, and work with cross-functional partners to meet business needs. The role requires a BS+ in engineering, 3+ years of technical experience, strong communication, and CAD/statistics familiarity.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in an engineering field such as Packaging, Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in a technical role, preferably product development or packaging.
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of statistics and test methodologies; CAD systems a plus.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams across projects.
• Project management skills including measurement, reporting and financial analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of engineering design, development, certifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed specifications for Starbucks packaging and smallwares.
• Lead development of projects through proof of concept, functional development, qualification, and commercialization.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Sourcing, Product, Quality, and NPI to ensure business needs are met.
• Work with vendors, document tests, and complete stage gate reviews as required.
